Monochromatic Mountain Shadows Brunch Wedding: Hannah & Joel
We don’t get to do many brunch weddings these days, but when we do, boy do we LOVE them!!
Hannah & Joel came to us with the dream of having an intimate wedding weekend surrounded by 10 of their immediate family memebers and that’s exacrtly what they got. They started off the weekend festivties by heading out to Cave Creek’s Buffalo Chip Saloon for a Welcome Party their guests were sure to never forget. Everyone dressed in their rodeo best and enjoyed a night of togetherness under the Arizona stars.
The next morning started off early but slow with Hannah and her crew getting ready at The Brexley in Scottsdale before heading over to Mountain Shadows Resort for the mid-morning ceremony. Joel and his son got ready on site with the couple’s pup, Tuck, by their sides. With the ceremony requiring only a few chairs, we had to get creative and opted for a circle ceremony. This made the ceremony feel intimate on the large lawn with the grand views. H & J stood in the center saying their I Do’s and sharing personal vows. One of my personal favorite parts of the day was when Hannah surprised her soon-to-be stepson with his own set of vows she had written for him. Once the ceremony concluded, we flipped the space for brunch while the couple took photos with their family members. TJ Rifkin kept the vibes high with his acoustic set during the transition to brunch and then later sang his own beautiful rendition of Shania Twain’s “You’re Still the One” for the couple’s first dance as newlyweds. Although a bit toasty outside, brunch included a build your own omelette station, pastries and fruit, and even included some petite desserts (instead of a traditional cake for cutting, which the couple saved for later that night).
Once the morning wedding celebration had concluded, we took all the wedding florals over to The Brexley where Hannah & Joel would be continuing their wedding day well into the evening. After everyone took a quick power nap, Hannah changed into her evening attire which was actually a surprise for her mom. She had her mom’s wedding dress reimagined into the perfect short dress and paired it with a headband (just like a photo she had of herself as a little girl w/ her mom’s wedding dress on). Her dad was in on the surprise and even brought the framed old photo for the other guests to see. Needless to say, mom was VERY shocked and moved to tears by this jester. The evening included a catered dinner and eventually the couple’s very own cake cutting moment.
All in all, this was a weekend filled with so much love and joy and confirmed this couple had made all the right desisions when it came to their wedding. The whole weekend just felt right. And it’s def a wedding weekend we will never forget.
