A Sweet Cherry Blossom Inspired Styled Shoot featured on Wedding Chicks

We rarely criticize our beloved state, but if you gave us a magic genie we might just wish for a few extra weeks of springtime. As summer always seems to come rushing in, daydreams of cherry blossoms danced through our heads. The tree holds a special magic - the fresh colors, the reaching branches, and the way they pop to life once awoken from their winter slumber - it's quintessential springtime. Seeking to bottle some of the magic found in this majestic tree, the team set out with a focused vision including but not limited to: real cherry blossom branches (duh), a Hayley Paige floral detailed blush gown, and cotton candy in all the right places. Rounding out the motif, marble and velvet accents create both a timeless charm while also tapping into a hot and trendy combo.

To support such a design, the venue needed to be both subtle and edgy. Introducing one of the newest and most beautiful venues in Scottsdale, Arizona. Balancing both indoor and outdoor spaces with crisp lines, modern architecture, and natural light for days, The Clayton House supported and enhanced this design in every way. Scottsdale has been begging for a venue that so gracefully accepts and improves nearly any design you throw at it. The Clayton House oozes elegance. The fresh white walls in The Great Room complimented our clean and modern ceremony, staged with ghost chairs and a floating arch of cherry blossom branches, greens, and blush blooms provided by Form Floral

Cocktail hour took us to The Porch, a hedge-lined oasis al fresco, where we created a lounge area, staged the most impeccable cotton candy cart, and our triple cake spread. The Porch beckons your best, and would be the perfect space for a champagne tower, dessert bar, or even a late night snack action to recharge some drained dance batteries. Sweet Wool recently stepped into the Phoenix wedding scene, and everyone's taken notice. Our hearts and bellies are full of appreciation for their spin on organic cotton candy, which has far more uses than previously perceived. We used it as a juxtaposition in texture for our champagne toasts, and as a cake accessory that is sure to turn heads. And why have one cake when you can have three?! A Bakeshop showed up with a trio of treats, as they're becoming known for, and it's bringing a new element to cakes that we welcome with open arms (and mouths). Your guests won't overlook this detail, that's for sure! This medley of cakes was a capstone feature, pulling elements from the rest of our design board, and combining everything on one table. We are in love with each, but through the moon with the combination.  The internet also took notice and that stunner of a β€˜bow cake’ has gone viral. We love seeing it reposted time after time. Martha Stewart even loved it!!!

Opposites attract. In design and love. For our reception setup, we intentionally set out to create two distinctly separate tablescapes that at first glance are dramatically different, but together strike a perfect harmony. Wedding design sometimes leans toward the alternate adage - birds of a feather flock together - but we appreciate getting a chance to intentionally throw that to the wind, and add dimension that mirrors the perfect imperfection of life. With rented elements from Foxtail Rentals, BBJ Linen, and Event Rents, we were able to make all of our table top dreams come true. Mauve velvet linens with blue and crystal vintage goblets. Silver flatware surrounded white plates, adorned with a subtle feminine texture. Marble details on the candlesticks, place cards, and menus completed the design. Behind the lens, Ryann Lindsey Photography and Cineprose Films captured the day with breathtaking beauty. The images and video completely captured every moment and every detail. We hope you enjoy seeing them as much as we do.
