Colorful Santorini Inspired Styled Shoot Featured on Inspired by This!

Have you ever been to Santorini, Greece?  If the answer is no, you need to STOP what you are doing and start planning a trip there RIGHT NOW.  Tyler & I went to Greece for our 2 week honeymoon immediately after our wedding.  We actually made it to 3 different places in Greece- Santorini, Mykonos, and Athens.  Santorini was our favorite island and by far the most magical place we have ever been.  Every morning when you wake up and look around, it feels like you're in a dream.  Everything is so beautiful, so white and so bright.  There are fuchsia bougainvillea everywhere you look.  Santorini, Greece is one of the most romantic, intimate cities in the world. Perched atop steep caldera-shaped volcanic cliffs and overlooking the majestic Aegean Sea, it’s difficult to imagine anything more enchanting than the natural scenery. But somehow, painted amidst that breath-taking backdrop, the architecture, food and locals truly make Santorini a gem among all the beauty that Greece has to offer.

Our mission with this shoot was to encapsulate as much of that authenticity as possible. Not only did we honeymoon in Greece, so did the duo over at Tremaine Ranch, so it was easy to style and bring the vision of every detail for this shoot into fruition. The beautifully handmade furniture provided by Tremaine Ranch portrayed the eclectic and genuine nature of the classic Mediterranean ambiance. Adorned with cobalt blues, organic greenery, and volcanic-slate inspired plates, the table settings instantly transported us all back to the island. For a moment, we were certain we could smell the salt water lingering in the air, remembering the days we spent celebrating our love in our own sliver of Grecian paradise.

Paying homage to the white buildings and blue rooftops of Santorini, SoHo63β€˜s white walls and grand fireplace enhanced the design with grace. Among the fuchsia shades of florals sprung Greek olive branches and lush eucalyptus, and the sweet magenta perfume was as intoxicating as the arrangements were jaw dropping- Garden Gate Flowers really knocked this one out of the park! Amidst tough competition, the real showstopper of the day was the gorgeous three tiered wedding cake done by Haley of Heartsweet Cakes. From the hand-painted intricate tile patterns to the delicately edible fuchsia sugar bougainvilleas cascading down the side, every detail of this cake was stunning. Swoon! Completing our culinary tour, traditional baklava and homemade lemon blueberry scones ensured everyone’s eyes and appetites were completely satisfied. Rhea, a past bride of ours & the beautiful face behind the Phood Fight Instagram account, was gracious enough to lend her kitchen talents to our delicious dessert spread.

Our ocean-inspired ombre watercolor invitation suite with a matching menu reminded us how high brides can set the bar before the wedding day even arrives. Tenn Letters really went above and beyond to create such whimsical, yet simple, paper goods that everyone loved.  Following suit, hand-brushed French macaroons added the perfect amount of panache, reflecting the foaming waves dancing at the base of the dark cliffs. Our bride wore a combination of dresses, each representing a different aspect of Greek culture. The first two were goddess-inspired; a long sleeve lace fitted gown as well as a summery classic gown from Grace Style and Bridal. The bridesmaids dresses also heightened the delicate medley of formalwear, providing soft tones that diffused the vibrant details of the day while elegantly reminding us of the light gray tiles that clack beneath the hooves of the infamous Santorini donkeys. Her third gown was a custom ethereal dress by Cleo and Clementine that fit comfortably and danced in the breeze. (FUN FACT: This C&C gown was actually Jonnie's real wedding dress!) With her tousled, spiraled curls and dramatic lashes, she embodied a sun-kissed Aphrodite, with a colorful pop of pink lips to match the bright florals. Opposite our bride, the groom wore a navy suit and floral tie with a splash of magenta to mimic the bougainvilleas that compliment the blue doorways of the steep corridors. All of the beautifully planned and unplanned moments were perfectly captured by the incredible Karlee K Photography as well as Erica Marr Films. Keep scrolling to see more pretty and make sure you watch the stunner of a video at the end. This shoot is one of the best things we've ever helped create.  It's work we never get tired of looking at...it's almost funny that this is even considered "work."
