Every good love story is actually a series of embarrassing stories, strung together that average out to be a sappy love story, right? But not all parts are sappy. Some aren’t even romantic. Some read like the TV show “Drunken History”... Like that one time when Nick first met Brittany. She wasn’t available, but the friend zone wasn’t where Nick wanted to stay… Persistence and thousands of dollars later, they had the wedding of their dreams. The end. Ok, so that’s not 100% true, but nobody really knows the full truth of the day these two met.
Alexa & Blake are getting married early next year at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. We are having so much fun designing and planning with these two. They’ve got a fantastic sense of humor and killer style. This wedding is going to be one hell of a party- that’s for sure!!! Also, they aren’t afraid of color… our FAVORITE thing to hear. Be on the lookout for this stunner of a wedding very soon.
Today is our 6 year engagement anniversary and we realized that we’ve never shared our engagement story with all of you on here!! It’s pretty great so if you’re at all interested in this part of our personal love story, keep reading to see how it all went down. Also, we wanted to share some of the super cute and fun photos from the day captured by Kacey with About Love Studio (we look so young…..having children REALLY ages you). Our close friend, Miguel Norigenna- who is an incredibly talented cinematographer, also made the most amazing video of the entire proposal (that we watch each year on this anniversary) and all that followed after. Tyler and I were together for almost 8 years before we got married. We have lots of special memories together during that time, but this one is a personal favorite- he did SUCH a good job planning this surprise for me!!!
In celebration of their 1 year anniversary this weekend, we are so excited to finally share this wedding with you all!!! Kandice & Bobby had a wedding day filled with bright colors and surrounded in warmth. Set in sunny Arizona, the couple used every ounce of the beautiful Arizona desert to create their perfect wedding day that took place at The Paseo- a venue with mountain views unlike any other. With a color palette full of all shades of peach, blush, apricot, green, & teal, the all-outdoor event was quite the showstopper. From the hand painted paper goods by the bride's BFF/ MOH, to the couple's young daughter being wheeled down the aisle via wagon, to the perfectly crafted custom dinner & drinks menu, this celebration was one-of-a-kind for sure. Our personal favs from this wedding: THE FLOWERS and the cute cactus macs!! Per usual, Daniel of Daniel Kim Photography captured it all perfectly on film, and the results are simply stunning.
We rarely criticize our beloved state, but if you gave us a magic genie we might just wish for a few extra weeks of springtime. As summer always seems to come rushing in, daydreams of cherry blossoms danced through our heads. The tree holds a special magic - the fresh colors, the reaching branches, and the way they pop to life once awoken from their winter slumber - it's quintessential springtime. Seeking to bottle some of the magic found in this majestic tree, the team set out with a focused vision including but not limited to: real cherry blossom branches (duh), a Hayley Paige floral detailed blush gown, and cotton candy in all the right places. Rounding out the motif, marble and velvet accents create both a timeless charm while also tapping into a hot and trendy combo.
Kris here… I’ve been a longtime fan of the Wedding Symposium. I’ve attended for years, and it’s been a highlight for me each year. I always leave so inspired and motivated. When Jenni reached out to me in early summer to see if I wanted to speak at this year’s symposium, I literally freaked. I’m a talker, for sure… but I’m NOT a public speaker! And to a room filled with my peers, my mentors, people in this industry I respect and adore. I honestly felt so terrified. And my topic? Courage. Ironic, I know. But if you read the definition of courage, I’ve learned that courage isn’t the opposite of fear. There’s actually an interesting coexistence between the emotions.
Trevor & Kellye are getting married on NYE of this year at SoHo63 and we can't WAIT- it's going to be one heck of a party! Until then, we figured we'd share their engagement story and show you some adorable photos from their surprise London engagement, as well as their stunning engagement shoot done up in Flagstaff with Ball Photo Co. This couple is so fun and it truly shows in all of the photos they take together.
Let me be suuuuuuper real with you for a hot minute, internet -we haven't posted this wedding yet because narrowing down the INCREDIBLE images from the talented Rachael Koscica Photography has felt like an extremely overwhelming task that I wasn't ready for. EVERY. SINGLE. PHOTO. from this day brings tears to my eyes. I see the moments, I feel the feelings. I relive the day over and over again. We love this couple so much. We love their families. We love their friends. We love their frenchie (who has her own Instagram, btw). And we REALLY love their wedding. The way THEY made US feel during THEIR wedding week/day is what we dream of as planners. We work hard to provide and serve our clients with everything we have and to feel the amount of trust, support, and love given by this couple and their crew is something we will never, EVER forget.
Shanlyn & Miguel's love story, planning process & wedding style could best be described as organic. The way everything falls together in life and weddings - but is quickly adjusted with the wind, was a lesson of the day and will surely cary with them in life. Wind and details aside, these two only needed their family, the ocean & each other to create their perfect wedding day. They celebrated with all the above and then some, perched atop the majestic cliffs of The Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara. Tyler & I had many roles at this wedding. Not only were we the planners/coordinators; we were also the Matron of Honor, Officiant/groomsman, florist, parents of the 1.5-year old Ring Bearer, out-of-town guests, and we had our new 2-month old with us. We planned hard, worked hard, and then partied hard. We wouldn't have wanted it any other way, and are forever honored to have shared this day with two of our most valued friends.
