Last month, my friend Tina and I were lucky enough to get to throw a baby shower for our good friend Lauren and her new little girl, Violet. Violet has been special from the start. Lauren found out she was pregnant again on our wedding day and told me 10 minutes prior to the ceremony starting. Then she found out her due date was set for December 25th, Christmas Day (which just so happens to be my favorite holiday ever).
Since Violet is Lauren's second child, we decided to not get too crazy with the baby shower. She also had most of Violet's nursery done but was lacking in some last minute decor items. I decided we could take care of that by buying items for the shower decor that could then be repurposed in the nursery after- a good way to save money and buy useful things! Violet's nursery is mostly Purple & Gold so we decided on a Purple & Gold themed shower with very vibrant flowers. The shower took place at Lauren's amazing Spanish hacienda styled home on a gorgeous December day. We had a yogurt parfait bar, mini quiche, mini sandwiches, homemade macaroons, and a mimosa bar! But, the hit of the shower was definitely the glittered donuts. They were so easy to make and made quite the statement.
Violet Elizabeth was born Christmas morning, right on schedule. Here she is in her debut photoshoot done in her oh-so-cute nursery. Congrats, Lauren!!!
